Wasp attack: At the Pokeswewa Maha Vidyalaya in Vavuniya, 32 children and eight teachers were hospitalized after being stung by wasps.
During the morning assembly, strong winds uprooted a wasp nest from a tree, and the wasps assaulted the teachers and children.
Pathaviya Hospital has admitted twelve pupils, Vavunia District General Hospital has accepted eight teachers and twelve students, and Madukanda Hospital has admitted three students. Five of them have received treatment and been released.
