Kathmandu : Southampton has been relegated from the English Premier League. After suffering a 2-0 defeat against Fulham at home ground, Southampton has been relegated after 11 years with two games remaining. The match held at St. Mary’s Stadium on Saturday night saw a goalless draw in the first half.
In the beginning of the second half, precisely in the 48th minute, Fulham scored a goal, securing a 1-0 lead. Then, in the 72nd minute, Alexander Mitrovic assisted by Harrison Reed, scored the second decisive goal. Ultimately, Fulham emerged as the winner with a 2-0 scoreline.
With this victory, Fulham accumulated 51 points from 36 matches, securing the 9th position, while Southampton, with 24 points from 36 matches, remains in the relegation zone.
