Teenagers in South Africa who passed away inexplicably at a nightclub had a mass burial.
South Africa: 19 empty coffins were placed in front of tens of thousands of mourners, including South African President Cyril Ramaphosa. Ten days ago, while at a celebration for the completion of the mid-year exams, the youngsters passed away at Enyobeni Tavern. Among the 21 victims, a 13-year-old girl was the youngest.

Although the toxicology report has not yet been completed, forensic pathologists have speculated that anything they inhaled or consumed may have been the cause of their deaths.
In a nation with a reputation for underage and binge drinking, the outpouring of sadness and shock over their deaths have also reignited calls for the legal drinking age to be raised from 18 to 21.

In a 3,000-seater marquee in East London, a city in the Eastern Cape Province, each casket has a picture of one of the deceased. Two of the young people have already been buried. One of the family members shouted “Oh umtanam umkile nyani” (Oh my child is really gone) as the service began while wearing a black attire and placing her hands on her head.
Students are also present to mourn their friends, some wearing school uniforms and others T-shirts with the victims’ faces. Eastern Cape Premier Oscar Mabuyane addressed the mourning and said how saddened South Africa had been.
