A court has denied a jeweler’s bail request after he was accused of purchasing stolen jewelry.
Sonam Kapoor house robber case: Last week, the Delhi Police nabbed a nurse and her husband for a Rs 2.4 crore burglary at the in-laws’ home of Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor in the national capital.
A Delhi court has denied bail to a jeweller accused of buying jewelry stolen from Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor’s home in the national capital. In his Monday judgment, Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Pankaj Sharma denied bail to jeweller Dev Varma (40), citing the fact that some of the valuable jewelry linked to the crime had yet to be recovered, as well as the Delhi Police’s position in the case.

Police say they found stolen jewelry worth over Rs 1 crore from the jeweller, including 100 diamonds, six gold chains, diamond bangles, a diamond bracelet, two tops, and a brass coin.
Varma’s lawyer told the court that his client is a well-known jeweller who has been in the family company for 30 years, and that the mere recovery of the jewelry could not be related to the crime. Last week, the Delhi Police nabbed a nurse and her husband for a Rs 2.4 crore burglary at the in-laws’ home of Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor in the national capital.
Aparna Ruth Wilson (30), the accused nurse, was working as a home medical care assistant at Kapoor’s residence on Amrita Shergil Marg and caring for the actor’s mother-in-law, according to the official. Naresh Kumar Sagar, the accused woman’s husband, has been recognized.
The robbery was discovered on February 11, but the complainant did not report it until 12 days later, when Delhi Police filed a FIR at the Tughlak Road police station under section 381 of the Indian Penal Code (Theft by clerk or servant of property in possession of master) and began an investigation.
