Ousmane Dembele has been involved in one of the most high-profile transfer sagas of the January transfer season, and the Barcelona winger might be sold on Deadline Day for roughly €20 million.

The 24-year-old France international had accepted terms with PSG and could yet leave the Nou Camp when his current contract ends in the summer. Barca paid £96.8 million for Ousmane Dembele in 2017, but he is now being asked to take a wage reduction or quit the club. Manchester United and Chelsea have both expressed interest in signing him.

However, due to financial fair play constraints, Premier League clubs are unlikely to push PSG for the France winger’s signature, which would force them to shed players before adding Dembele’s salaries to their books. Barcelona had hoped to shed Dembele in order to sign either Spain’s Alvaro Morata (Atletico Madrid) or Arsenal’s Alexandre Lacazette (Arsenal).

It’s been 12 days since Barcelona’s manager instructed Dembélé to leave and 11 days since he was left out of the squad and informed he wouldn’t be playing again. It’s also been 11 days since Mateu Alemany, the director of football, concluded that Dembélé didn’t want to stay and should leave. “By January 31st,” Alemany stated.

The 24-year-transfer old Ousmane Dembele’s to Paris Saint-Germain is said to have begun talks with Barcelona. Moussa Sissoko, the player’s agent, has also given the Blaugrana officials permission to meet PSG sporting director Leonardo. All that is left is to come to an agreement on a transfer fee.

Barcelona will benefit greatly from Dembele’s arrival. To begin, they can press their chase of a striker, which could entail Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang joining on loan. Furthermore, despite the fact that the Portuguese team is unwilling to lose its asset in the middle of the season, the team can make a last-ditch effort to sign Grimaldo.

To begin with, bringing in Dembele would agitate Angel di Maria. However, if Kylian Mbappe leaves, Dembele would be ideal. With a verbal agreement with Dembele’s representation, PSG’s sporting director Leonardo has managed to put PSG ahead of the pack when he departs Barca. The only question is that if United and Chelsea (the only Premier League teams that engaged with his agency) would return if he doesn’t depart today.
