Kathmandu : In Kathmandu, the play ‘Trayam,’ which depicts the journey of three young women, will be staged at Kaushi Theater. The play, written and directed by Dilip Ranabhat, will begin its performances from Friday, 12th Jestha. According to the director, the play showcases the interesting ways in which women confront the violence they face in their daily lives.

The play has been constructed by Theater Village. Theater Village has previously produced plays such as ‘Palpasa Cafe’ and ‘The Confession.’ Director Dilip Ranabhat mentioned that the play was prepared as part of his theater studies at Kings College a year ago.

“This subject has been brewing in my mind for a long time. I had worked on it and made some progress during my theater studies at Kings College a year ago. However, it didn’t reach the audience. Now, it’s finally getting the opportunity,” he says. “Many women close to me have experienced the subject matter depicted in this play. Some have shared their stories with me, while others haven’t, but I have understood. This play will break the silence of all of you as well.”

The leading roles of the three female characters are portrayed by Sangita Thapa, Raksha Thapa, and Purnima Acharya. They will be accompanied by Shravan Ranamagar and Nathan Ryan Bhandari. The play will run from the 12th to the 28th of Jestha. Ayushma Kharel, who supported the production of the play behind the scenes, has also been praised by Dilip Ranabhat.
