On May 12, 2021, Ellen DeGeneres told The Hollywood Reporter that the 19th season of The Ellen DeGeneres Show would be her final as a talk show host.
She thanked her fans for their support and credited them with changing her life over the last 18 years in the emotional episode. The comedian continued to amuse her audience while hilariously explaining her decision. She finally admitted that she needed to “take a break.”
She also revealed that two years ago, it was decided that her show would only run for another one or two year.
