Kathmandu: Three climbers, including the Clean Himalaya Expedition activist Ang Kaji Sherpa, have passed away.
The demise occurred on Monday, including the leader of the Clean Himalaya Expedition 2023, Sherpa Sardar. He had been in a leadership role in the Clean Himalaya Expedition for the past three years.
Sherpa Sagar, a resident of Okhaldhunga, was in the role of Camp Manager at Base Camp II of Mount Sagarmatha when he fell unconscious. As preparations were being made to return the equipment used in the cleaning campaign, Sherpa fell unconscious and passed away on Monday, as reported by the Nepali Army.
His mortal remains were brought from Lukla to Kathmandu by a helicopter of the Nepali Army on Jestha 8 and were posthumously handed over to the family members.
In addition to him, the mortal remains of two other Sherpas who also passed away have been handed over to their respective families.
