London:  British Prince Charles will be crowned today in his third coronation. The coronation ceremony, to be held at Westminster Abbey in London, will see King Charles being crowned by the Archbishop of Canterbury.

More than two thousand distinguished guests from around the world are attending the coronation ceremony. Among them are kings and members of royal families from various countries, politicians from different countries, presidents, prime ministers, and representatives from governments.

BBC reports that in today’s special ceremony, Queen Consort Camilla and King Charles will be adorned with the Sri-pacha, a 2.23-kilogram jewel-studded crown. This crown was previously worn by Queen Elizabeth II in 1953. It is said to have diamonds and other precious stones.

After the death of Queen Elizabeth II at the age of 96 last September, her 73-year-old son, Charles, became the King of the United Kingdom.
