Atletico Madrid defeated Real Madrid with a huge margin of 5-1 on their home ground to secure the second position in the league standings. In the second minute of the game played on Wednesday night, Grizmann gave Atletico an early lead with a personal and team goal. He successfully doubled his team’s lead with his second goal in the 27th minute of the game. After Alvaro Morata added another goal in the 49th minute of the second half, Atletico extended their lead to 3-0. In the 57th minute, Yannick Carrasco scored a goal for Atletico via a penalty, leaving Real Madrid without a goal and trailing behind 4-0. However, in the 72nd minute, Anthony Lozano scored a goal for Real Madrid, but one minute later, Molina added another goal for Atletico, leading them to a massive victory of 5-1. With this win, Atletico secured 69 points from 33 games, the same as Real Madrid, but Atletico has a better head-to-head record.
