The legendary actor, Arvind Rathod was reportedly bedridden owing to age-related health difficulties after testing positive for COVID-19 a few months ago. Rathod was residing with his niece-in-law and her son, according to an India Today story. He passed on to the other side on Thursday (June 01), but the news of his death did not reach the public until today.
Rathod was an unmarried man who shared his home with his niece. He moved to Ahmehad with his family after leaving Mumbai and was in their care until his final days. On the professional front, the actor worked as a photojournalist before making his acting debut.
Rathod gained to prominence as a villain in films starring Amitabh Bachchan, Mithun Chakraborty, and Madhvi, and was best recognized for his performance as Hasmukh in Agneepath. Hrithik Roshan portrayed Big B in a 2012 remake of the film. Sanjay Dutt played Kancha Cheena in the film, which also featured Priyanka Chopra as the leading lady.Like 1990 drama, the film was a box office triumph not only because of its plot and acting prowess, but also because of its music.
Coming to Rathod, the actor was also seen in another Amitabh Bachchan starrer Khuda Gawah in 1992 and Lady Killer in 1968 as per IMDb. He also appeared in a number of Gujarati films.
