Adidas just announced the home uniform for Argentina’s 2022 World Cup campaign.

Argentina 2022 World Cup Jersey released

The new Argentina jersey, which is currently up for pre-order, will start shipping on August 29, 2022, which is probably also when the company will issue its other 2022 World Cup shirts. The official 2022 World Cup jersey for Argentina has been unveiled, showcasing the outfits Messi and company will be sporting this Fall in Qatar.

Let’s start with the fundamentals: it is a white shirt with bands of sky blue, as we would anticipate from La Albiceleste. Black accents are used throughout the design, including the shoulder stripes and the adidas logo, which lacks the lettering “adidas” underneath.

The German outfitter’s use of just the three-stripe symbol on the right chest appears to be a new trend for national team apparel (but not for club teams, as the latest Manchester United release shows). A black stripe wraps around the back bottom hemline and runs down each side of the jersey.

The faux polo effect is finished with black sleeve cuffs and a black ring-neck collar that gets thicker as it wraps around the back. A delicate tonal diagonal dash pattern that runs the length of the top gives the design some added texture. The shirt’s primary vertical stripe on the back is by far its strongest design element.

With a center white stripe that runs the full length of the shirt and extends over the collar, it is divided into two blue stripes. The national symbol of Argentina (and Uruguay)—the “Sol de Mayo”—is a small, gold-embossed vinyl patch on the back collar that gives the appearance of a vertically hanging flag.
