Agreement with Sevilla for the loan of Luuk de Jong! Welcome, @LuukdeJong9! 🙌🏻#DeJongCuler 💙❤️
In 2019, the France international moved from Atlético Madrid to Barcelona for €120 million, but he has fallen short of expectations. In 74 La Liga games for the Catalan club, he has 22 goals.
After joining Atlético from Real Sociedad for five seasons, Antoine Griezmann had a much higher goal return than at the Camp Nou, scoring 94 times in 180 league appearances. On Tuesday night, Atlético Madrid loaned midfielder Saul González to Chelsea.
Barcelona completed the sale of right-back Emerson Royal to Tottenham on a five-year deal for €25 million on a busy deadline day. The 22-year-old has spent the previous two seasons with Real Betis and recently represented Brazil in the Copa América.
Barcelona recently sold midfielder Ilaix Moriba to RB Leipzig for an initial fee of €16 million, with a further fee of up to €6 million to be paid later. Moriba, an 18-year-old Barcelona academy product, broke into the first team towards the close of last season, but talks to extend his contract, which expires in June, fell through.
“Sergio and Jordi Alba agreed to adjustments in the financial parameters of their contracts, including a wage cut for this season and payment deferral for the future years,” Barcelona said.
Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba of Barcelona have agreed to salary reductions in order to register new acquisition Sergio Agüero in accordance with financial fair play standards. Gerard Piqué, a defender, did a similar step in the past, allowing Memphis Depay, Eric Garca, and Rey Manaj to join La Liga. Manaj has been loaned to Spezia.
